Sticky Sweets

Hello today I will be showing you how to make a good and healthy but delicious treat!
Here's what you will be needing :

1 or 2 apples depending on how much you are and how much you think you will eat.
About 1 tablespoon of water, sugar, and a slice of butter.

( For this recipe you will be making caramel and in another post you will find that I also put a recipe for caramel, so you can look at that if you want)

1. Cut the apples into whatever shape you want. I prefer slices and bite sizes.
2. Preheat your pan on very low.
3. Then slowly pour the sugar & water in. You may notice that the sugar & water will make watery bubbles. When you see those bubbles, pour in the butter.
4. Mix slowly and turn up the heat a bit.
5. Pour the hot caramel onto your apples.

6. Then enjoy your healthy treat!

Chocolate Softies

Hi. I finally found a time that I can write this. Here's how to make chocolate softies:

250 g of dark chocolate --1 1/2 chocolate bars
250 g butter
75 g flour
125 g sugar
8 eggs

1. Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
2. Melt the chocolate.
3. In a separate bowl, crack in the eggs and add the sugar. Then beat it all together.
4. Pour the melted chocolate into the butter.
5. Mix it well.
6. Then add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture.
7. Butter little baking molds.
8. Pour the chocolate mixture into the molds.
9. Bake for 10 minutes.

Then take it out and enjoy. The heart of the cake should be soft, liquidy and goey, but the outside is cooked. You and your family should all scream "chocolate softies taste delicious with whipped cream!"

PS. I will put up photos later.

Modena-Home of Balsamic Vingear!

Hello. I went to Modena, Italy this year and it was great! Modena is where they have been making balsamic vinegar for generations.

Now, in Modena there is a special tradition. When people get married, they take with them 5 barrels of vinegar from the family attic. The barrels age with them through the years. Then when they have kids and the kids get married, the kids take 5 barrels with them, using some of the aged family vinegar to start new barrels. They add young vinegar to it and then they let it age with them. And so on and so forth.

We visited a balsamic vinegar farm. The lady showed us all these barrels which contained aged vinegar. Normally balsamic vinegar is aged for 12 or 25 years. The difference is that the longer it ages, the sweeter it tastes. Also the type of wood of the barrels like cherry wood or oak would make the vinegar taste different because the smell of the wood seeps into the vinegar. We can easily tell which vinegar has been aged a long time and which has been only aged a few months. The one that is aged for a few months taste liquidy. The one aged for years tastes more syrupy and tastes better! Much better!
